Day 8

today was a day trip to Spoletto and was rainy most of the morning. This was a little bit of a hard town to get around in. Finally found some parking and the walk began. First we came across a museum that had a roman theatre dating back to the 5th century and the museum had a lot of artifacts. The outdoor theatre was still in great condition with all of its underground passage ways. Then we headed to the rocco which was a fortress that stands above the whole town and looks down on the aquaduct but we were unable to cross it as it was in the reno stage. The ROCCA was incredible condition, it had been totally renovated in the last 20 years in the early 1900s it was a womens prison

Stopped at a small italian Nuovo restaurant for lunch. It was quite good. On the way back to assisi we stopped at a small church called San Damiano. This church is without a doubt one of the most humbling places we have ever been to

Headed back to Assisi and sat with people we met from Ottawa and Paris and shared two bottles of wine. Finished up the night with dinner at Mediveo restaurant and another fabulous meal was had. Lissa and I need hour walk to enjoy the small town.

Assisi is without a doubt one of our favorites.
