Tiny train arrives to take us north-west to Palermo, excited to discover the patchwork of architectural periods and styles - one of the most prosperous and intellectuals brilliant cities on the Mediterranean under Arab, Norman and Hohenstaufen rule. We were due to stay here twice, so divided our sight-seeing to east and west.
