A Farewell to Venice.

Another traveling day today as we prepared for our hop to Paris. For us it was a bitter sweet moment, not wanting to leave Italy but looking forward to Paris. We were determined not to leave Venice the same way we arrived. We booked a private speedboat, you may recall them from the Indiana Jones movie and dragged our over stuffed luggage just a few metres to Ca Foscolos private dock.

Winding our way through the canals of Venice for the last time, every second got harder. In our few short days we had all developed an affection for Venice but it had really stolen Neive's heart. She got quite teary as the island slipped into the distance and I don't mind admitting I was a little misty myself. The holiday had been unbelievable so far but we had “found” ourselves in Venice more so than any other place. Friends of ours traveled half way around the world just to spend a week in Venice not long after their first taste. Kerry and I have a strong feeling we'll be joining that club.

Footnote: As we sat waiting for our 'lifestyles of the rich and famous' speedboat transfer Kerry mused over how nothing had really gone wrong so far..( this gap was intentionally inserted to allow groan long and hard).. Great, someone just had to say it didn't they!

An hour later as we waited in the easyjet check in que Kerry suddenly developed one of those aweful "did we leave the iron on moments". Iron? No. Kids? No, all here. Excess baggage? No, plenty of it.
Wait a minute. Where are those very expensive Italian leather handbags?...

Wait for it.............SHIIIIT !!!!!!!!

Stay tuned.
