The Winter City on Water

Europe » Italy » Venice By Blueocean
January 30th 2007 Like so many millions of travelers, I traveled to Venice for just 2 days after staying in Rome for a week. I actually got to see the city during winter time and I must say it was pretty cold. The atmosphere during winter is much calmer, there are not so many tourist and all the wealthy residents go back to a warmer place during winter. The cold frisky weather can really surprise oneself, because during winter it's close to freezing temp during night and it barley warms up during day time. If anyone has been there during summer they will say that this city is unrecognizable during summer time. I really enjoyed myself in the calmness and tranquility and I believe it’s a great place to be during winter for some sole searching. P.S. Check out the surrounding island and St. Marcos
