Castle and harbour illuminated at night.
After the adventures of the last couple of days, today was another relaxing day by the pool.

In the evening, we drove to a very picturesque little town on a narrow spur of land jutting into the south of the lake called Sirmione. We had a walk around the castle and some Roman ruins, which were, unfortunately closed by the time we got there. The main attraction, at least for our two kids that is, was the vast selection ice-cream.

Everyone needed to indulge my photography whilst they were eating their ice-creams. There was a really nice sunset across the lake and, once it was starting to get dark, the castle and nearby harbour were illuminated and looked stunning. Thankfully (for me at least) I had had the foresight to bring my camera and tripod with me.
