So we went out for dinner last night to drown our (my passport) sorrows in good food, but the place was closed. We made due and headed back. Slept. Woke up, had breakfast (free unlimited coffee!) while the night shift desk guy (a very very touchy man.... Who doesnt like a hand on their shoulder while a stranger talks to them?.... or for that matter, a hand on their thigh as strange man wakes them up in the morn?) talked to us about how a catholic priest had come to bless his house and them sprinkled his hampster with holy water. The man really liked his hampster. And touching my shoulder.

Then we decided on a train out (skipping Siena so we could get up to Ferrara to find my passport) and grabbed groceries for the lengthy train ride (several faux paus were committed by yours truly on his quest for crackers, cheese, etc). On the train ride we soaked up a beautiful day (wasted on the train day when we are spending virtually no time outside) as the landscapes rolled by. Its such a varied and interesting terrain. The window held my attension better than a 4+ hour movie could. We arrived in Ferrara and began killing time (I had emailed Steven - who I believe has my passport, since I have his - that we would meet at the train station at 6). However, as we saw the sights (such as they are in this no name city), somewhere between the "castle" and the "cathedral," we ran into steven's lady from our Amalfi Coast weekend. So now we're chilling in her nice air conditioned room waiting for steven to get out of class.

Ah, how things work out. I lead a charmed life.
