Ahh.. an upgraded "deluxe" room, on the quiet side of the hotel - beautiful view of the Duomo dome - but also on the recycling side of the street. Seriously - what is going on here, I can here bottles crashing all night long - grrrrr...and it's too hot in the room and we can't get any air thru the thermostat so the open windows are not helping the noise situation.... the hotel is boiling and for us, it's a comfortable 60 degrees outside 😊

So anyway.. todays agenda is Palazzo Pitti and the Uffizi Gallery and to visit some of the churches - it's a rainy, gloomy day in Florence but the city is bustling with everyone getting ready for Christmas. I love all the street lights and decorations but it's on a much smaller level then home - the decorations, lights and I believe presents - understated- nobody looks like we did hustling thru the malls and streets with a ton of shopping bags!!!

I can't seem to recall this but we were not allowed to take pics in the museums, galleries and churches in our other European country visits - everything in Italy is NO CAMERAS - so we don't have too many pics to share of these 2 cities yet.

Albertos annoyed about the backpack and the pictures, I'm still annoyed at the people selling roses, toys and the gypsies... PS: Alberto gave my euro coins to an elderly fake gypsy outside the Palazzo Pitti and guess who couldn't use a WC cause they had no euros... yup, that would me - and we all know how that goes!

We had a nice late lunch in Piazza della Repubblica, did some more window shopping, got a bottle of wine and heading back to the hotel. We are planning a day trip to Siena tomorrow and want to be up and ready for the AM
