not as fast this time
up early again to get a sunrise but there was no cloud and no colour so back to the room for breakfast and then head off in a taxi 10 euro to the train station, Had a coffee while we waited for the train, it took 1 and a half hours to get to florenceeeee , fell asleep writing this last night so its now the next day but looking back we easily found our bnb thanks to a map and a good taxi driver , but the owners have not replied to our messages or maybe they never got them because the taxi driver rang him and he answered straight away and a lady came there in 10 mins. we had already ordered a coffee at a cafe on the corner so we had to run away and leave them on the counter ^

after settling in we went back to the cafe and found our coffee still on the counter so I had a warm cap and Esther's was an iced coffee we walked the streets mainly looking at paintings and bought a print for our entry 1200 wide by 900 high of a Tuscany scene for 45

euro, and leather goods of which the prices range from 160 euro to 1000 euro for a jacket, I ended up buying one for 180 euro including adjustments and will pick up tomorrow which is now today.

we also were amazed by the DUOMO so big and so intricate the building is massive and the bell tower is sooo tall , on our way back to the room Esther decided we should go to the top because none was lined up it cost 15 euro each and it was nearly sunset so we struggled to the top just in time to see the sunset and we were rewarded handsomely, not only was the sunset beautiful, and the view of Florence 180 degrees with nothing taller, but we saw the most amazing sight of millions of birds forming patterns in the sky, never seen anything like it the pictures don't do it justice.

we also went into an art museum and saw the statue of David which is amazing to think it was carved out of a piece of discarded marble with a bit too much detail, though not really accurate since David was a Jew (say no more)

waiting at our unit
and I'm pretty sure He didn't fight Goliath naked !!!!!!!

we went back to our unit and relaxed for a bit and worked out our plan for driving in Tuscany and then went to look at the river and had tea on the way back to the room I had a pizza that was nearly as good as Jacobs but not near as good as Evans and Esther had the best pasta she has tasted and we shared a Tiramisu nearly as good as Anitas.

got back to our room late 10 pm
