Last night in Randazzo was terrible! We went to one of the few lakes on Sicily, "Lago di Gurrida". When we get there- wich was not easy, it was nothing to see! Just an ugly tiny lake, our book said that it was really beautiful and a lots of birds but what do we see? Some green muddy water, mabye because of the weather but that was really a disappointment. We went up a small dirt road to not hear the traffic, but instead, it rained and blew quite much.. During the day we tried to find a cave, "Grotta del buró" so we went to where we thougt we would be able to hike to the cave, but after fifteen minutes we met a greman-speaking person (Karl knows some german) picking mushrooms. He told us that we were in the wrong place, so we went back down with him and he pointed at a fence and said "Follow the fence 500 meters, then turn left and there it is!". So we followed the fence around 500 meters, turned left.... no cave. We searched for a long time in the old lavafield before we gave up but we found many orchids.
That was a disappointment bur however. We went to Francavilla de Silcilia to see if theres was a cheap hostel we could stay at so that we could wash ourselves, when we got to an B&B there's a sign that they are not there for the monent but call this number. I called and the owner answerd, I asked her if there's any room available and she answers "Me no parle inglese" and hung up. I can tell you that I got mad. Then we decided to go a river called Alcántara where it should be really nice stone formations and a big ravine. When we got there, someone I think it was Ingela, my sister who said, "Let's take a bath here instead 😊 " and so we did! When I stepped into the water my feet numbed away. <--- can you say it like that? We wanted to go further downstreams to see if it was more beautiful there. I got under the big bridge and besides me I can see some black long hair and an awful smell came to me on the same time. I screamed to my sister and when I turned my head I
see this big brown horse- slaughtered. It was only the skin and the head left and there was blood everywhere. So we ran away and when I turn my head again, there's a dead dog. Yes it is hard to understand but actualy, it's true, you can ask my sister and Karl.. Let me tell you, we took the bath upstreams. We continued with our tiny Fiat panda to a place called Novara di Sicilia to where we are now. We are high up in the mountains, it is raining and blowing really strong but we have stopped at a really beautiful place! Sleep well!
