Day 10 & 11 Manarola Cinque Terre Of all the places I didn’t want it to rain it was the cinque terre. And what do ya know, it poured!!! The ancient Roman commercial, political and religious centre. The forum lies in a valley between the Capitoline and Palatine hills, and over the centuries fell into ruin and was plundered for its stone and precious marble, by the Romans themselves. It wasnt until the Renaissance era that the aera was systemically excavated which continues now.
