Question: What is the current political structure/government in this country/region? Who has the power, and how do those in power interact with their people?

In the article " Italy- Politics, government and taxation," it stated the type of government that exists in Italy and its history. Italy is and has been a democracy since World War II. They created their constitution in 1948. However, before World War II, Italy was a monarchy with King Victor Emmanuel III as the leader. The leader today is president Giorgio Napolitano. He has been the president since 2006.

In addition, the Italian community must have wanted equality. If their goal wasn't equal rights for everyone, they would not have changed from a monarchy to a democracy. A democracy is more open to the community and interacts better with their citizens. Therefore, Italy might be a place where people's goals are to respect each other and work together to create the best community to live in.
