So we found a couple really good camping places and a few average ones, but that’s all part of camping in Italy in the off-season though I guess. The first place we went to remained our favourite for a while, Fabulous Camping Village. The staff were really friendly, they had amazing facilities and more. They have a big shallow-ish pool that was made of some sort of rubber so that the kids can’t hurt themselves, as well as another pool, tennis courts for miles, a pretty well stocked mini-market, a bar and restaurant, their own gelateria, internet café... By the end of our Italy trip we found another camping village that you could seriously live in and never leave. They have 3 restaurants, bars, a gelateria, a supermarket (just as big as a normal supermarket), bazaar, souvenir shop, fruit and vegetable market, bike rental, internet café, games room, several amazing swimming pools, accommodation for anyone and everyone, massive kids clubs, the list goes on. Oh, and it was next to a big lake, and you could just go out the gates to the benches and pier at the lake where there was ducks and swans waiting. Both places were fairly cheap for what they were and compared to other experiences. So yes we found some great places and some ok places, but all in all it was pretty good and I was amazed that every one of them have mini-marts, which we don’t get. We had some interesting experiences on the road with the RV too. We’ve stopped traffic, been abused by a guy on a Vespa, almost threw the GPS out the window a few times because of being sent to the middle of no-where, but oh well. We met some other Aussies at the start who as well as giving us a box or two of food stuff gave us some advice to just go with whatever happens and you are bound to get beeped at and stop traffic, maybe lose a mirror, but you just have to stay calm. It was good advice to follow. Anyway camping and traveling in the RV wasn’t bad. 😊 x
