Amalfi Coast
Beautiful little Town More Greetings from Rome. Things are going well here. Debra and I are just trying to figure out our plans. I have a bit more time to talk. I arrived in Pisa from Sardinia a few days ago and picked up my car. It was a little scary because I have never driven manual before. One of the Professors at Field camp took me in the parking lot twice. Anyways, I got pretty lost in the streets of Pisa. The driving here is crazy. Its like New York, with much smaller streets. The leaning tower was very incredible. I am very glad I saw it. I walked around Pisa a bit, watching all the tourism street action. I then got in my car, got lost again and eventually found the way to Sienna. I arrived there late so I found the hostel and went to bed. The next day I drove into the main part of Sienna and spent a few hours enjoying the sites, mostly around Piazza del Campo. Then I left and drove through the Beautiful Tuscany countryside. Many small, cute towns. I spent the night at a small fishing Tuscany port. It was beautiful and very peaceful.
Rome
Departing from my smartcar Unfortunately I did not have more time.
The next morning I drove to the Rome Airport and picked up Debra. We then drove for 2 and a half hours to Pompeii. It was very cool but loaded with tourists and a lot bigger then we expected. It was a huge place and impossible to see all the "important" sites. After three hours we were tired and we left. We drove to the Amalfi coast. The driving was so much fun. The roads were small, very windy and right on the cliffs. Scary but very fun. The views were amazing also. We got to our hotel, checked in, showered then ate a great dinner (Deb's first in Italy) enjoying wine and cheeses. We then had some gelato and went to bed.
The next day we spent walking around the gardens and streets of some amazing towns. Very beautiful. Then we drove to the top of Mt. Vesuvius. It was really huge. Very cool. I had to buy a rock there. Next we drove into Naples for some pizza and to book our place to stay in Rome. We had a late night. We drove to the Rome airport and

Patheon. Very cool building dropped off the car (after a lot of trouble getting gas...urggg). Then we took a cab to our place in Rome, and got in by 3 am. We went to sleep and woke up late that day. We had a great day in old Rome seeing the Colosseum and other cool things like the Constantin Arch. Then we walked through the city streets and had an awesome dinner. We were really tired though.
The next day we woke up early and spent the day viewing beautiful artwork at the Vatican Museum. I loved the Rafael frescoes and the Sistine chapel was amazing. The rest of the day was spent seeing other fun sites like the Trev fountain and the Spanish steps. That night we had another great Italian dinner, followed by more walking, gelato eating and a little drinking at a very happening piazza.
That should update you all on my traveling. Now...enough time on the Internet. It is time to go see some more sites. Till later, Ciao!!
