Views over SorrentoOriginally we were supposed to head past Amalfi to do the Northern part of the coast, but after our disastrous bus trip and our great day anyway, we agreed not to go back. Decided to keep it chill and walk to the ‘Baths of Queen Giovanni’. Not sure what it is, but seems like a little swimming hole with some ruins.
Sleep in, did the washing and hung it outside the window like a true Italian (don’t want to drop it tho) and late morning headed out for our walk. Walking upwards, there were stunning views of Sorrento to be had. We took the skinny road, and then the part with no path or road verge on bends with cars flying by…..us girls didn’t like that one bit! And then into the little alleyways (more signage would be nice) but we finally found it after asking a few people, and it was so worth the effort. We had a great time exploring the little areas, swimming and then more exploring. There were ruins and swimming holes with crystal clear water, it was so gorgeous.

Very thin piece of real estate We kept exploring and headed off on some rickety wooden path that disappeared around a corner and then a restaurant appears from nowhere. Its full too! We stop for drinks where I had the worst white wine ever in my life (had to water the plant with it). We were keen to venture onwards toward the next town we could see, but were concerned how long it would take us and if this was the only route back, it would be a long long day. So back we head, stopped at a little ristorante for lunch and drinks (€28). Had dinner in and then headed into town to look around and have crepes for dessert.
What a surprisingly great day.
