1: Irish Music at Medieval church 16 secs

Pony along the Atrim coast in N Ireland. I think it looks crazy
So, my last post was very lame.....sorry about that! I ran out of time to post pix and then couldn't figure out how to edit to add them later.

Here is a summary of what I've been up to:

I took a bus trip from Dublin to Belfast, then through the Antrim coast in Northern Ireland to the Giant's Causeway. After spending some time walking around there, we drove to Derry and walked around for a while.
On the way to the Giant's Causeway, we stopped at a cool swinging bridge. I love those! The coastline was awesome!
The Giant's Causeway was pretty cool as well. Derry was OK. Not worth the trip on it's own, but interesting.

Then I took the bus to Galway, which is awesome! I took a bus tour of the Burren area and the Cliffs of Moher. Both pretty neat. Saw some cool stone age tombs and castles along the way to the Cliffs which were very scenic. Thanks for the recommendations Dennis, Heather and Todd!

Back in Galway, I went to a traditional Irish music session in a Medieval church. It was very cool. I had seen music in the pubs,

Cost money to cross the stupid bridge, but I love bouncing on them!
but this was better due to the acoustics in the church and the ability to actually see and hear the players.

Then it was off to the Connemara area north of Galway. I stayed in a hostel there overnight on the edge of a fiord. It was ok, but there was a bus load of French teenagers crowding up the place a bit. Also, no food or services close, so had to walk to town for a late lunch. (6km each way). Definitely wishing I had a car on that part of the trip!

On the way back to Galway the next day, we stopped at the Kylemore Castle which was a private house built in the 1850s, but is now an Abbey. Hard to believe that a private guy had enough money to build this thing just so he'd have a nice house!
