Ireland Trip Preparations Are Underway!
We're leaving for Ireland on Friday and are really excited. We're starting this blog so that you can follow along with us as we explore the Emerald Isle.
We can't guarantee that we'll always have internet access or be able to upload photos from the road, but we'll do the best we can. Once we get back, we'll add lots more to share.
We're flying into Shannon, and spending our first several days in Clifden in Co. Galway. From there, we'll explore Connemara and the town that Erin's family comes from. Then, we move on to Doolin in Co. Clare, one of the best spots in Ireland for traditional music. We'll continue to Killarney in Co. Kerry and use that as a base for seeing the Dingle Peninsula and Killarney National Forest. We then do a big drive east to Glendalough in Co. Wicklow, site of St. Kevin's Monastery. From there, we head to Dublin for several days in the city. Then, we venture up to Belfast to spend some time in the city and around Giant's Causeway on the northern coast. Finally, we'll fly home from Dublin. It's an ambitious trip, but you know we wouldn't have it any other way. 😊
Here's a map of the route we'll be taking through Ireland:
