Day 07 We planed today for some shopping, and checking out some sights that might be of interest. One of the first items was a championship golf course, one ranked among the top 10 in the world. Built in 1500s by the Oflahertys. That name is in Gails family tree going back some generations.

The famly gave it to the state in 1963, and they have made a monument of it to share with the people of Ireland.

There is one big room, and as we were leaving, I noticed a kitty in the corner, near a heater. Yes, it was cold and damp.

As you can see not all the walls remain. The dinning hall collapsed after it was abandoned because it was built over an underground sprint, and the water had erroded and the hall collapsed. One wall remains, but the hall is gone.

The little round fortification is where the weapons and gunpowder was kept, it was within the walls.

Excellent food.

This meal happened while we were on our way back home to Galway Bay Apartments. Great food, geat visiting and about an hour from the apartment.
