So after a full day yesterday my roommate kasey and I woke early (8:43am) to go to mass. Little did we know that it would be in Gaelic. She didn't even see the part about it being an "irish mass" and I just thought that meant it would be really long or kind of festive. but haha joke on us, no, it was in GAELIC!! and they definitely added and subtracted parts or changed things around, cause it became near impossible to follow. I thought I just haven't been to a catholic mass in a while, but kasey who goes regularly in the states, was lost as well. The church was INCREDIBLE though. Think of those amazing pictures of all the old cathedrals and that was kind of what it was like. it was a really intimate service with only like 15 people there, but it was really interesting to be a part of their tradition it was called Ss. Peter and Paul's Church (if you want to look it up).
So after that we went grocery shopping and I got my stock for the week, which I am SO excited about!!! Including apples and grapes. (sorry for that detail,
I was just so excited because I was nervous before coming here that they wouldn't have either and I so did.) I also got tortellini which I am SO excited to make for dinner (it reminded me of you Marian, when I picked up a pack, and will think of you when I eat it <3).
About 2 oclock, my roommate and I were planning on going to the gym. because of all the flooding we had to get vouchers and unlike normal vouchers this one was for a specific time and day, so we both had randomly gotten one for the same day, so we went. (mom close your ears) As soon as we stepped out the door it was snowing. YES, SNOWING!!! I was told and read many times that it never snows in Ireland. Ya I could prove all of them wrong in just my first week here. So ya it was snowing but we were both really excited to go to the gym, so we were like screw it, we are going. About half way there, we had a thought that they might have canceled the bus due to the snow but by that point we were so excited we were like, well we shall see and if not then the walk is a good enough work out. So we get there and other people are there, which we thought was a good sign and yay within 10 min the bus arrived and drove us about 15 min to where the gym was. So yay I got to work out!!! (cause i know all of you guys cared so much about this) but I was stoked, the only bad part was is that they dropped us off and didnt pick us back up till about 4:30 so we were kind of stuck there for a little too long, but well worth it in the end. And we were told that within a few weeks the normal gym would be ready to open. But ya so while we were in there it continued to snow and when we came out was probably about half a foot high. we saw guys walk by with sleds to this huge hill and sled down it. it was AWESOME!!! quite cold, but awesome!!
So now after all that, I'm going to cook me up some tortellini and then talk to my mommy. I'm very excited for both, but the later especially. Have a great sunday and god bless!!
