Our last day in Iceland was worth waiting for in terms of weather. Finally we got to see blue sky! We took the day to just walk around Reykjavik. We found a wonderful bakery with fresh baked Icelandic treats and sat outside in the sun eating them. We then hiked to the National Museum which was well worth it. It contains a collection of artifacts from the "settlement" era and does a good job of describing Icelandic history. Then a late lunch of tuna fish salad on the most wonderful bread at a well known coffee shop. It was a perfect day and a perfect way to end our short stay in Iceland!

Icelanders are proud of the fact that North America was visited by one of their own.
