Step to the left, you are standing on the North American plate, step to the right you are on the Eurasia plate. hold on! the separation is occurring 2 cm/year so bring a lunch!

Named after the Irish slaves that were caught by the Vikings here after they escaped. Not a very happy ending to the story.

Puffins

are still a traditional dish once a year on Vestmannaeyjer. They are caught with nets while the hunters suspend themselves on climbing ropes along the cliffs. They also collect eggs with the climbing rope propelling technique.

all the fish parts are used. nothing wasted. These will be sent east to Japan and other countries.

This was the most darkness we saw in Iceland. The sun never really set. Theresa slept with eye shields on every night.

I agree !!
I agree with the last pic's caption!! Hey T and D...our family friends from Wpg. were or are still in Iceland. Their mother's side of the family is from there. The pics are so beautiful as usual!!
