The day started with a makeshift shul in the lounge. The service was very do it ourselves. Rabbi Weiss’ son did the leyning and various people helped with the services. After breakfast and lunch there were shiurim if we wanted to learn, or if not just to sit and talk or read or to do absolutely nothing and let our batteries recharge.

When sunset came we went up to the top deck and made havdalah. Then we came downstairs to the dining room where the mashgiach made havdalah attended by the purser and a fire hose. The evening entertainment was a show put on by the crew which was fun and greatly appreciated.

The crew were an amazing bunch of men and women – totally committed to their work and to making the cruise a very enjoyable experience for all the passengers. They were a very multi-cultural bunch from around Europe and the Philippines.
