After breakfast at a harbour café and some shopping, we drove back eastward along the coast and then inland into the mountains to visit the monastery of Osios Loukas. The site has an exquisite location overlooking a remote valley and contains two Byzantine churches built in the 10
th and 11
th centuries and considered to be some of the great buildings of medieval Greece.
From there we continued round to the south coast of the Gulf of Corinth and stopped at a campsite about 20k before the Corinth Canal.
