A few final observations about the area of Crete we were in. There are many abandoned shells of homes as well as many unfinished. You can see the rebar up through the existing floor but nothing more. All grapes on the island are brought to this winery for processing. They plants are not trained up but are pruned in a way that they shrub. The humidity is captured under the plant and that is how they are watered. No irrigation that we could see

They give you a card that tells you about each wine and what to expect. They serve a tomato paste which was NOT to my liking, gouda cheese, and very crunching bread.

Pretty gorgeous country for sure. Many, many items I would have loved to take home with me. Behaving myself though.
