Mykonos Day 2- "The Scooter"

Hi Everybody! It's close to the end of our second day in Mykonos and we're so in love with this place. Last night we discovered Mykonos town and ate at an amazing Greek restaurant. After dinner, we headed to Little Venice where we danced to none other than year old American music such as, "Sexy Back" by JT. Kevin dragged me into some local bar where we made friends with the owner who assumed that since we're New Yorkers, we're automatically from Astoria (largest Greek population in NYC). We went with it and scored a free shot of Ouzo.

Eight hours and a bad hangover later, we woke up at noon and headed to Ornos, our second local beach. We grabbed lunch and Kevin snorkeled by himself, since I skeeve it. He managed to find one fish! We grew restless on our beach chairs and decided it was time to cheat death and rent a scooter. It was a steal at 22 euros a day and quite a powerful little guy. We seriously almost ran out of gas on a remote part of the island but managed to make it to the Petro station.

We had to check out the infamous Paradise beach. Luckily Kevin knows he way around everywhere so no maps were necessary. A small note about Paradise: think of it as Dee Jays mixed with Vegas mixed with Cancun...AKA "Sin Beach." If you ever want to feel old, give it visit. We had a quick drink and hopped back on the scooter for the hotel. We're about to get cleaned up for an authentic fish dinner and venture out to town again.

We can only hope that Paros has half as much to offer us. More tomorrow.
