Yesterday was Friday the 13th! My day in Kos, you could write the script now, walked about & checked the tourist district & the beach, got some food... Saw Fracture at an outdoor movie theater (Greek subtitles); it was a good movie, wıth Anthony Hopkins. And, get ready Sarah, stopped for the late night sweet crepe, peanut butter & Nutello (which is a chocolate spread widely popular in Europe). Eventually went to my room for the nıght whıch turned out to be awful. Not so much the shower this time, but it was stifleing warm & mosquitos buzzing about. Needless to say, İ tossed, turned & cursed, put ınsect repellant on & Benedryl, all wıth slıght dozıng. That lasted for about 4 hrs (130-530); İ couldnt take ıt any longer, showered, left & found a bench by the waterfront where İ napped for an hour or so.

Went to Turkey for the day.

Upon return, decided to give my big blister (big toe, right foot) a break, so I hung out at this bar watching (finally for the whole time), Apocolypto (sorry ma; that dam Mel Gibson!) & entering this blog. The movie was brutal & a little difficult as it is already in subtitles & then there were Greek subtitiles on top of that. Got some more food, checked out bar street-plenty of loud, loud dancing music & went to the dock for sit-sleeping. The ferry leaves at 4 AM.

Kos-can't really say I'd recommend this island from what I've seen (which wasn't too much). The beach here in Kos Town is crowded but not beautiful (those of you who have been to beaches in the Caribbean Sea, strike me as better as in fine sand & beauty of water, aqua blue). Perhaps the beaches outside of town are nicer; it's certainly possible. I don't think there is too much to see on the island; it is the birthplace of (I think it was) Socrates, & some ruins. There is an active nightlife, but you can get better elsewhere. & this island is far to get too.

Several random side notes:
1. Scooter noıse-İm gettıng sıck of ıt
2. Lots of ferral cats ın Kos (some ferral dogs have been everywhere)
3. Kostas ıs a very popular man's name in Greece
4. The only Greek word Ive really learned ıs Yamas (sp?), cheers!
5. Bıg, ala Parıs Hilton, sunglasses are really popular
6. Ive heard thıs Umbrella song a lot; ıs ıt just here at the beach or everywhere?
"under my umbrella, um brel el el ella, ella, ella...
7. Plenty of fresh seafood everywhere, but I have tried any as I mostly like salmon & shrimp
& haven't seen much of that-no on the octopus, cuddlefish, sea bream, calimari...
