HOW TO BECOME A LOCAL IN CHANIA, CRETE IN ONLY ONE WEEK
(what the guidebooks don't tell you)

Themesong: Sunrise, Sunset
Dresscode: Bikini, sunglasses, sparkly heels and an equally sparkly dress
Accessories: Prayer beads

It's univerally accepted that one is to sleep between the hours of sunset and sunrise, but this is not true here in Crete (or in Greece for that matter), but sleep is only permitted between the hours of sunrise and sunset.

Here we've broken down a day's itinerary:

2:30 pm - Awake.
3:00 pm - Take bus to ocean beach bar in Agia Marina.
3:30 pm - Hamburger breakfast from sleeping position on lounge chair (NOTE: This is much, much better than breakfast in bed. Here you have the same effect, but get to hear waves crashing, watch attractive Greek boys play paddle ball and listen to techno music).
4:00 pm - Freddo Cappuccino.
4:30 pm - Chimay Bleu.
5:00 pm - Swim.
7:30 pm - Watch Mediterranean sunset.
8:00 pm - Take bus back to Chania.
8:30 pm - Siesta.
10:00 pm - Shower and get dressed.
Midnight - Dinner. Truffle ravioli. Like gold, but in food form. Salad the size of the table.
2:00 am - Drinks at Pallac in old Venetian Harbour. (NOTE: Beware of Greek Carrie Bradshaws).
3:00 am - Pre-dancing at Pallac (NOTE: Not much dancing room but friendly bartenders and amazing DJ make up for this)
5:00 am - Taxi to Platania where clubs are. Villa Mercedes seems to be the favourite. Much dancing ensues. (NOTE: Beware of Greek Ed Hardys. Almost as bad as Edmonton Ed Hardys).
7:00 am - Watch sunrise from club. (NOTE: All clubs are on the ocean).
7:30 am - Take taxi back to Chania and sleep.

The next day, awake and do it all over again.
