Traben-Trarbach

We continued along the Mosel to stop on the outskirts of another twin town, Traben-Trarbach. From here a party of about twenty crammed our bikes on a train which took us further along the river for about 30 k to the town of Bullay. From there we were able to enjoy a wonderfully scenic ride back to our starting point. It became strenuous at times when we had to climb away from the river to avoid flooded sections of the normal path.

There is a Mosel wine festival going on at the moment and at 11pm we were treated to a spectacular firework display let off from the castle above the town with the bangs echoing along the river valley.
