all our luggage
So yesterday we landed in Germany! We were all really exhausted from the trip, so we didn't do too much but we walked around one of the biggest parks in Dresden. It's called the "Großer Garten" so the name is pretty self explanatory haha. The hotel we're staying at is in a really nice part of Dresden, it's the older part where all the historical stuff is so there's a lot of tourists but the bus ride to the Neustadt, which is where I'll be living, is really short.

Today we got an early start. We had an appointment at the Goethe Institut, the school I'm going to. We had a lot of questions but the people that worked there were really nice, and they'll even help me get my visa which is always a hassle when you have to do it by yourself (especially when you don't know the language very well). We also went to see the apartments I'll be staying at, even though we weren't really supposed to since people are still living there and we don't know exactly which room is mine yet. They all looked really nice though, and the area around the building is

Frauenkirche. this is the famous church we bombed and reduced to dust, they built it back up. the dark stones are the original ones they used but all the light ones are stones they had to replace
amazing! There's a big courtyard next to the apartments, and inside are two really great restaurants (Chinese and Greek) and there is a huuuge grocery store, which isn't as common in Germany. Inside is a bakery, a cafe, a place to develop pictures, and all the food you could ever want. So I'm really lucky that it's so close, I wont have to worry about carrying groceries very far and in winter that'll be especially important haha since it'll be so cold. And, there's a professional art store right next to where i'll live :D

After, we we walked around the Neustadt some more and saw the Kunsthofpassage which is a hidden ally that has a lot of artists and really interesting buildings. I saw it when I was here last spring, but I wanted to go back and take more pictures. I've taken as many pictures as I could because it's really sunny so I wanted to take advantage and get a lot of good shots 😊
