Weihnachtsmarkt
Christmas Market What a great Mon. this turned out to be. =) Started off perfect... I got to sleep in an hour later than usual... that's always a good thing. I even had time to start reading an article for my afternoon class. And, I actually understand all of it. It's a very interesting article about the term 'Underdeveloped coutries' and why it's better than the more politically correct terms. Quite interesting. And I'm soooo excited that I understand it! (and yes it is in German). I'm not even having to look up very many words... what a good feeling that is. hehe... There was snow on the ground this morning.... how beautiful =) (unfortunately it's now all melted) My first class of the day was nothing spectacular. Actually it was pretty boring, but that happens. Then after class came back and read some more... wasn't quite able to finish the article, but it was all good cause it turns out we don't have to have it read til Wed. =) so now I'm even a little ahead. Oooohh la la.. that's also a nice feeling. My international politics course was very good today. It was interesting AND I was able to follow
Weihnachtsmarkt
Christmas Market everything!! Yeah!! I was even able to contribute to the conversation a couple times (although I was only called on once). It's finally getting easier! I can't even explain what a liberating feeling it is to actually be able to follow everything in the class disscussion. hehe... although I know next class period it may be back to only understanding the main topic and not being able to pick up on the little details, but oh well... I'm enjoying today for all it's worth. =)
After class I got to come back to my room and chat with Rick for a while. It's nice to be able to talk to him on a regular basis now. I then headed into town. Matt and I met a little before our dance class to enjoy the Christmas Market a bit and drink some Gluehwein (a hot red wine drink that's only drunk around Christmas time). Gluehwein is very good. After we hung out at the Christmas Market for a while we went to our Salsa class. Today was soooooooo much fun. We learned a really cool new dance move. We also really got to
dance today instead of just dancing whatever
step our instructor told us to dance at the moment. It was great. The hour went by way too quickly. Then, the icing on the cake... I put 30 Euros on my phone earlier today. After dance class while Matt and I were walking to the bus station I got a text message saying that I randomly got an extra 5 Euros as thanks for putting more money on my phone. =) Free money is always nice. It was just overall a very good day and I'm in a great mood and had to share it with all of you. =)... Oh yeah, I also got an e-mail from a friend from Cali that was just great and made my day (I actually got several e-mails today... Thanks to everyone who's written. I love to hear from you). Well that's it for today.
Side note: The weekend was also really nice. Thomas Bauerdick came to visit. That was fun. He came Fri and stayed till Sun. Fri. night Matt, Thomas and I chilled and watched a movie at my place (I was still very exhausted from Thur.). Sat. Matt, Thomas and I went to the Christmas Market for a while. In the evening Jaime, Matt, Thomas and I went to dinner and guess where we went.... yep, Astrix... we're becoming regulars. =) After dinner Jaime went to make some phone calls back home and Matt, Thomas and I chilled at a bar for a while. Was a nice and relaxing day. Sun. I spent the day reading.... and reading... and reading. Sometimes that has to be done. Was a good weekend though. Gonna head off to bed now. Night all!
