The German legend tells that the maiden Lorelei would sing from the top of this rock and cause the sailors to crash into the rocks and die.

To get to this castle it was either an $100 cab ride or an hour and a half hike in the woods. You can probably guess which route we chose.

I do love your blog and the pictures were exceptional. Just makes me want to go to all those places. I was especially interested in the San Souci castle. My Mother lived on a Street named "San Souci" and we always wondered what it was named for. Have fun.
