Caaaaaaaaake
Hurry!! The candles are melting!! My last visit to Germany was a lot of fun, but ridiculously short as I only went there for 22hours, so as soon as I got back to London I booked another flight for the 1st weekend available, which happened to be Maggie's bday...perfect timing!
Anyways...went there last Thursday and was gonna hang out in Frankfut for a bit before going to good old Alsbach to meet the girls and go to the pub, but my flight was completely delayed!! It wasn't very nice to hear the lady saying our flight was gonna be at least 2 hours delayed because of a problem with the plane...ended up it was 3:15hr delayed, so I didn't get into the centre of Frankfurt til 7 or something... so I took myself to dinner at the aussie bar (I love that bar!) and had some VBs along with my food, which ended up making me slightly drunk...then on my way to the train station I realised I still had 30min for my train, so went to the irish pub across the street to had a snake (love 'em too!). I still don't like that bar though...it's ridiculously far more expensive than "home"
Bday drink
Anything is an excuse to drink... (home is how we call our beloved
An Sibin), it's not homey and cozy and the bartenders are quite rude.
Moving on...since it was quite late, got on the train and texted the girls to meet me at the pub and went straight there with lugagge and all, which wasn't a problem cause as soon as I stepped inside, bumped into Paul (one of the managers) who kindly told me to put my suitcase in the office. Went to the corner to say hi to my fave "dirty old man" Donal, said hi to everyone that was there, got another snake and back to the corner to catch up and wait for the girls.
Ended up bumping into a brazilian girl I met not long before I moved out and as we were saying hi to each other we spotted another brazilian, which was quite unusual at the Sibin, so we went to talk to him and he invited us to pull a chair and join his then trio formed by him, a german
jung and a (hot!!) south african bloke. We did, but of course I only spent 5min then got up to circle around and
Special appearances
Even Elvis showed up! (and I can't spell "appearances") catch up with everybody I hadn't seen in...humm...alright, not that long! Anyways...girls arrived and we just had to stay together...
Rick is the new "karaoke" man and he did an excellent job! We had a lot of fun, especially going to the stage to sing along with the "Backstreet Boys", a girl that sang the Corrs and somebody singing Barbie Girl...with Rick!! That was pretty hilarious...
Paulo went there to see me!!! I love him so much!! He's a sweetheart!! Brazilian too...we went to get döner with the girls but döner lady wasn't there =( so we had to get it with döner man and it wasn't as good as usual...and as I was talking to this croatian guy in the queue (I talk to everyone!!), really old döner man started saying we were a cute couple!! what the...?? When the guy left he said he's got the hots for me, so Paulo and I started cuddling saying we were together and the guy out of a sudden flipped out saying something about his daughter, that I couldn't have talked to the croatian guy if I had a boyfriend and bla bla bla...and still said he
Presis, presis
Great presents, han Maggie?! Best bday ever! had the hots for me!! :S Bizarre, bizarre...but that's what I like about my trips and about talking to strangers! Always bizarre things (and people!!) going on...
Night was great! Lot of drinking and talking...pub closed and we stayed there before going to Oish's (manager), which is right above the pub, to crash. Well, at least I crashed...I was done...the girls just stayed there smoking and talking nonsense (I think...I was out!).
Went to Maggie's in the early morning, but my poor friend had to work while I slept the whole day til she was done working and started cooking as dinner...followed by her nap and me waiting for Ginnie to come over while unpacking to give back her suitcase and listening to my beloved Snow Patrol. So yeah...Friday we stayed in the whole time...then I went back to Ginnie's with her to talk about the surprise party we were gonna throw for Maggie on Sat. We're au pairs, meaning...we're poor! So we decided to throw a very au pair kinda party...we wrapped up a bunch of useless stuff we had in magazine paper, including an empty sorted veggie box!!
Next day, Maggie was gonna be out for family pic and Ginnie and I went to the pub to decorate the corner with balloons and wrapped a chair and a Burger King crown up in foil and some pink ribbon...it actually was quite hard work!! but sooooooooo worth it...and while we were working on it she kept calling us and we couldn't answer the phone cause we didn't know what excuse to make, so when we were almost done we texted her telling her to meet us downtown, but we didn't hear from her until Ginnie finally got a hold of her and she was 3min from the meeting point!!! So Ginnie went to meet her while I finished with the balloons..
We found an ice skating rink, but they weren't gonna start the next session (or something like that) for another 50min so, since we already had a bottle of Jäger, we got some red bull and went up some stairs at the Eisporthalle (which with thought led to a bar, but not really...) and stayed upstairs chatting and drinking. They went ice skating afterwards, but I went back to the pub cause my back was killing me from sleeping on the lilo.
At the pub...went straight to the corner to check if everything was alright and to say hi to Donal and everyone...there I met Davyd, someone I met on my "1st last pub night" and said "hey, I remember you"..."yes, you do"...
Ginnie texted me when they were close to the pub so I'd get the cake and candles ready, but the candles melted in less then a minute!!!! We worked it out before she arrived though.
Among the ton of rubbish Ginnie and I gave her, there was also a beanie Ginnie made her and a lighter I got her with a pot leaf (she loves pot and is always losing lighters).
Party was great!!! Everything worked out, we had a lot of fun!! Oh yeaaaaah...Ginnie and I went to the band's room to ask them to sing happy bday and they did some time later on that night...it was really cool cause they made this 60s rock version of the actual song.
As usual, pub closed and we stayed there hanging out chatting and having a laugh for a while, then we all went to Oish's again, but Dave and I crashed on the couch, so last thing I remember, they were watching some crappy kid's show laughing their asses off with Oish's comments on it (every comment he makes about just anything is pretty hilarious).
Dave and I woke up pretty early and everybody was gone, apart from Ginnie, Maggie and Oish, obviously, but they were all snoring...so we just stayed there on the couch for a few hours til I had to get ready to leave for the airport...I took my suitcase to the pub the day before cause I knew I wasn't go home to get it! I said goodbye to the girls, which was pretty hard...then Dave took me to the airport.
No delays this time, no endless queue at passport control...got home pretty quick...was really good to be back...to both homes.
