Tonight we went looking for a Christmas tree at a Home Depot type of store. We brought Inmate because dogs can go almost anywhere here without even a second glance.
We walked around for a few minutes looking at area rugs, pain, and other home improvement items. Innie was fine, just wandering around with us, looking for someone to pay attention to him.
We walked outside into the garden center (or Garten Paradeis, as they refer to it!) and began looking through rows of small, sad, “Charlie Brown” trees. Inmate kept pulling on the leash and Andrea had to keep correcting him. Then it hit us both: We had just walked Inmate into a virtual forest and were expecting him not to sniff, investigate, and mark them as his own!! Poor guy!!
Amazingly enough, we actually did make it out without any “accidents!”
