Aww Munich. We arrived at main train station in Munich around 7am. No rest for the weary though. We stopped by our hotel and dropped off our luggage and made our way back to the city center of Munich. Let me explain Munich by telling you what its not. It's not Paris, it doesn't smell and doesn't have a tourist trap or someone trying to sell you something every 30 seconds. However, its an absolutely beautiful city. I once again, can not tell you too much about the city historically; but we went through a couple churches, and saw some quite amazing things. (see the pic's and you'll understand)... In the center of Munich there is a huge city hall dealio, and at 11a.m. it puts on a show. Attached to this city hall is a large clock tower, and of course in German style, there is a cuckoo clock show, but with practically life like figures. The show lasts some 5 minutes, and it is pretty much court jesters going around in a circle, then a jousting match; a quite impressive show (of which I have video but dont know if i can post that, so come over for the viewing party).... We also went through very impressive former palace of one of the kings (not sure which). In part of the palace there is a museum dedicated to some of the national treasures; crowns, jewels and all that jazz... The palace is so large, there is an opera theater..... Im sorry I can't explain too much, but just enjoy the pic's....

Now for the Munich people wonder about-- the beer. The Munchen's are heavy drinkers, but not in the American sense of go out to a club... Its more along the lines of lets go to the big open area, set up a cafeteria style lunch and drink big beers. Well, doing as Munchen's do, we went to a local brew house (each brewery has their own brew house, serving beer and great food). On this partiuclar day, we went to a more local place-- the Maxer something something... GREAT EXPERIENCE-- I had schnitzel and fries and a liter of beer- delicious. Most all of the good seating is outdoors at most these places... WEll thats my brief recap of Munich.. The pic's can do better than my words, enjoy

Almost forgot, after dinner, those of us who are real troopers made our way to the Olympic grounds in Munich. Basically there is a huge space needle type thing there, which we rode to the top observation deck... Had a great view of the city and the setting sun and on a clear day you probably could have seen the sun set.. anyways enjoy
