Edit Blog Post

So this is a bit of a dis-jointed blog. We departed the Hague on what could best be described as tropical storm weather; damaging winds and light rain. Needless to say thru some connections here and there, I made it to the station and made it on the overnight train to Munich. Got on the train aroun 9pm, got off around 7am. Munich is beautiful... sadly my camera was dead the first day, so I will have to go back and put that blog in later once i get the pic's from my picture cohort Ryan. Therefore, this blog will mainly focus on Neuschwanstein Castle (apparently it inspired sleeping beauty's castle)... That being said, it was a 2 hour train ride out to Neuschwanstein, but boy was it worth it. We went thru lower Bavaria and into the German Alps. This were foothills or small mountains; but they aint your grandpappy's blue ridge mountains, these are Manly mountains (with castles)... I can't tell ya a whole lot about the castle, in fact it was only 1/3 complete when the king ludwig 2 vacated it (he was declared crazy by quack doctors because ppl in the govt. wanted him out)... Either way, it was okay on the inside, the only thing that truly blew me away was the woodwork in the kings room (pic later). However, the breath taking views of the castle, and the surrounding area more than made up for anything the castle lacked. Enjoyed a german beer and some currywurst for lunch. That made for a pretty full day. We did sneak out to dinner at Hofbrauhaus. It seats thousands, literally, and its complete with the typical German brass band and all. Hitler once inspired a riot to break out there as well. Germans drink, but in a different way. Its more of a social gathering, its not going out and going to the club, many go the a beer hall pretty much and get dinner and big beer (so it seems) or a beer garden-- just an outdoor variation cafeteria style. Our best experience was on day 1 (so more on that when I get around to it).... AFter dinner we all made it back to the hotel and got to bed for the 7hr train ride to lausanne started at 7:15am... I will send an email out of a video of us arriving in lausanne--- breathtaking... enjoy the pic's
