Franco-Allemand school in Germany! Guten Tag!!
That's about 25% of the vocabulary I know in the German language!! I should have been prepared with the basics before spending the day there! haha! Well, as you know I spent the day in Germany yesterday observing a Franco-Allemand school! It was very interesting...I enjoyed it very much! The school is made up of half French students and half German students. It is an immersion school which means French and German are both spoken all day. I observed an English class, French class for French students, and a French class as a foreign language for the German students. All the classes were really neat...I love hearing the different accents! I give these kids a lot of credit though...I don't know how I would do it being immersed in a bilingual school at such a young age. What a great experience for them!!
After we wpend the day observing, we went into town and explored the city for a little while. We were true tourists...taking pictures of everything...being abnoxious with the little German we did know...and visiting the tourist shops! I didn't realize I was at a disadvantage with the GErman language until I went to buy

Look at how cute the signes are!! something. I know in France you always have to try to speak French if you want good service...so I thought it would be the same in Germany. I panicked because all I know is Hello, Please, Thank You, Goodbye! So I went up to the very nice salesman and said Guten Tag! He started speaking to me in German....I know I had a very worried look on my face because then he asked me something in Italian...when I still didn't answer, I asked him in French if he spoke French. He answered by saying ohhhh you are French!!! I followed with no I'm American and don't speak German, but I can speak French of English! So then he started talking to me in English! IT took a good while to get the language straightened out...but we were very patient with each other and everything worked out just fine! 😊
Today was kind of a good day and kind of a bad day. We were all exhausted from yesterday and had a full day of class plus our group had to prepare presentations. I gave my presentation on Organ Donation and it actually went pretty smoothly considering the lack of

Ever heard of the quote, "I smile because I have no idea what's going on?" Well...that's me in this picture! sleep. Toward the end of the day our teachers wanted to do an activity to help us relax. They had us close our eyes and imagine ourselves in our happiest place...the people around us...the sounds...the smells...etc. We had to mentally leave the classroom and go to this place....it was all wonderful until they said it was time to leave and come back to the classroom. When I opened my eyes, half the room was in tears. I was one of them. I thought about sitting on my back patio with my family and the second it entered my mind I was like ohhh crap here I go. We then had to go into groups and talk about our little moment while tissues were being passed around for us. They must have known we would cry because they kept saying " it's ok to cry you need to let it out". I know they meant well, but we were kind of ticked after the activity because it definately didn't relax us! It made us all upset instead! I knew I would cry eventually...but none of us expected to cry in front of the class!!! I am feeling better though....I went and

Center of town! bought me some happy...delicious creme brulee chocolate. 😊
We had another Apero-Langue at the Bar de l'U tonight. Every Wednesday night, the students from the CLA get together, talk, and drink wine! Our table was French and English and we spent the night talking some serious Franglais! It was really nice...I met a girl named Anna who is going to Paris next week and wants to go salsa dancing! Apparently it's pretty popular in Paris and since she's French, she offered to go with the group of us who wanted to go salsa dancing! I'm so excited! I hope it works out!
Well, I'm sorry this blog wasn't too exciting...I'm going to the discotheque on Friday so that should bring some interesting stories!!
I leave for Paris on Monday! I'm really sad to leave Besancon and my wonderful host family...but very excited for my adventures yet to come!
Miss you all!
Bisous!
