Sacre CoeurSacre CoeurSacre Coeur

I LOVE You!
We took the train to Paris on August 19th. We stayed in a hostal that was quite central, considering how much there is to do in Paris. The first thing we did was go to the cemetery in Paris, which was absolutely amazing. It was very beautiful and moving. Not to mention the biggest cemetery I've seen. After that, we went to the Sacre Coeur. I LOVE the Sacre Coeur! We went there at least two other times just to sit and relax. There are so many people there playing music, talking, kids playing.. I really enjoyed it there. We then went to the Arc de Triumph, which is something else... It was amazing to be there!
We then walked down the main street by the Arc de Triumphe- I feel silly for not knowing the name for sure, but there is a song based on that street! Its in the movie Darjeeling Limited and if you haven't seen it, you should 😊 The song is Trles Champes-Elysees. We then spent the following day enjoying all that we could at Le Louvre! It was sooo amazing to spend a day at Le Louvre and see things I've studied or learned about right in front of me (like pieces from the Parthenon for example!). We were there for at least 5hrs and in that time we each went our own way to look at the things we really wanted to see and I had some time to sit down and sketch a couple of my favorite things! We also took a little break and ate in a cafe about halfway through 😊
After Le Louvre, we walked around in the gardens right outside and then walked over to see the Moulin Rouge. On the 21rst we went to the Eiffel Tower! We decided against standing in line for hours and paying like 2euro more to go to the top and we just walked up to the second story. It was quite beautiful! You can see everything and it was great to relax way up there and take it all in. After that we went over to Notre Dame, which is one of my favorite places EVER. It was absolutely stunning, I really don't know how to describe it. It was magnificent. It was amazing to walk through, it was a very moving and spiritual experience.
We then stopped and got some Helado (delicious) and walked down a street where the movie Amelie was filmed (a must see, one of my favorites). We then went to the Mosque of Paris and went to my favorite place in the entire world. There is a cafe attached to the Mosque where we went and had some mint tea (favorite!). This cafe was adorable. There is an open patio where you can sit and enjoy your tea or you can sit inside and because its such an open area, there are birds hanging around inside! We were sure to return to the cafe the following day because I loved it so much, it was a great atmosphere and I love mint tea 😊
Other than that, we went to an Arabic Museum, which was great, and did a little bit of shopping. These first weeks in Europe were great and it was a blessing to spend it with a close friend and her family because I was able to learn a lot from them.
