Biarittz, Southern France

The high-speed train was tension-filled. We get on with large lugguge, full train and no place to stow our stuff. Train starts moving immediately, as we make excruciating crawl down aisle, bumping everyone as snide looks are heaped upon us. Once we sit, we are cramped amid the only section of seats that FACE the passengers. They don't like us, and don't budge an inch. Oui, oui!! The train itself it super dope and gets moving @ near 300 mph.

Ah, Biarritz what a place! We had a major snafu with our reservation and ended up paying more than we thought, but it was worth every euro spent. Biarritz was amazing. We were right on the ocean and although it is known for great surf, it was as flat as the bay (see: San Sebastian).

Re: Snafu - When booking a hotel please make sure to convert from British pound to American (weak) dollar BEFORE arriving at destination. "Wow, this place is unusually nice, compared to other hotels we've stayed at."

Besides the best beach we've seen on the trip so far, we scored a major coup when we walked down a side-alley and found Taco Mex. We ate their 4 nights and were treated so well by John Phillipe, the owner, and Helen, who waited on us each night (maybe this is the culprit who added those pounds to my side...btw, pounds on the side are not what we're looking for).
