La puesta de sol desde la playa
A few years ago Dax and I went to a town in the South of France called Dax, just because of its name and because we thought it would be fun for Dax to have a photo with the town's name sign (I mean, every reason for traveling is good, right?) That photo became popular among our FB friends and one day, one of our closest friends told us that there is a town in France called Dieppe, which is interesting as his surname is Dieppa so we said 'let's go there so you can also have a photo of your name-town'... and so we did!

Taking advantage of yet another bank holiday in UK, we left on Saturday morning and came back on Monday afternoon. Due to this bank holiday, the channel tunnel was quite busy and we were delayed for a bit, but who cares when you are in good company? We were having fun by just eating our sandwiches and crisps trying not to get rained on. The crossing was smooth and Victor was very impressed that he could use his 4G inside the tunnel... at about 76 metres underground!

We got to France and had to stop to buy the car stuff we need to drive a British car in Europe and there we found what we needed for our 'sign task' (more of this later)... and cheese... lots of cheese... and wine!

The drive was very enjoyable thanks to the beautiful French landscapes and the good weather.

Once we got to Dieppe we found our goal: a city sign! Immediately we started taking photos of Victor who was feeling like a movie start having paparazzi in front of him - mission accomplished!

We found our accommodation after a bit of searching and it turn out to be a cute little flat with old fashion furniture which looked really 'French' somehow. We dumped the bags and went for a walk in town, which turned out to be very nice; we went to the beach, watch the sunset and then had dinner in a restaurant in the port area; seafood is obviously very big here so, while Dax, Victor and Adele were munching mussels as if the world was going to end, I had a gourmet dinner of fries and ketchup as there were only two vegetarian options... oh, la la!

We slept like babies in the quiet of the house and the following morning went on a long walk to take as much of the town as we could: the church on the cliffs on one side of the city and the castle on the cliffs of the other side. From both hill tops you can see the whole town and beach, as well as the port. We found a nice cafe on the port with more vegetarian options and I had a very tasty 'croque messieur' (minus the ham!)

It was a short trip but we had a very good time: the town was nice, the people friendly, the weather good and the food tasty so, what else can we ask for?

Name-towns
After our conversation about Ella in Sri Lanka, I meant to message you about a town called Deni in Australia :) Well, it's actually 'Deniliquin', but we rarely call things by their given name over here...it's in New South Wales on the East Coast of Australia - you'll have to visit! :)
