Yet another beautiful day for us to enjoy. Planned to take a bus along Lake Annecy to a village and take a hike. Walked to the bus station to check on the bus route only to find the streets empty and no bus - it is a national holiday - Ascension Thursday! This bus doesn't run on holidays.
On to plan B - this was planned for later in the week, but today became explore the lake by boat. We took a boat that does a 2 hour loop of the lake stopping at a number of villages. We got off at a point 3 miles from Annecy and walked the rest of the way along the lakeshore.
Spectacular views from the lake of the surrounding mountains and village. Gee saw a couple of houses she wanted. The sky was full of hang gliders putting on quite a show. They are the little specks in the photos.
Annecy may have been empty in the morning but it was crazy busy in the afternoon - a lot of people appeared to be taking advantage of the holiday. Annecy is a short drive from Geneva and is apparently a favorite
get away for them. We were told that on nice summer days, like today, there can be 10,000 bikes on the bike trail that circles the lake.

Annecy
Okay Jackie, you take the house in the second photo that you say you could live in - I want the one in the first photo that is titled "One of Gee's favorites". Would be be neighbors? Your trip so far looks just grand, but waaaaaaay too much walking for me. My knees would strongly object. Stay safe and keep having fun. Hugs, Me :)
