We left Barcelona approximately noon on the 28th, and after 3 train swaps we arrived at our destination Nice, France, at about 1am. Due to the language barrier and previous experiences with taxi drivers trying to rip us off, we decided to take a bus in the hopeful direction of our hostel. We spent about an hour and a half angrily pacing through the streets of Nice smacking ourselves for not printing off better directions, Kyle and Tenille's friendship lingers after that hike. We finally made it to a big hill ( as described in the online directions) and made our way to the top, luckily we managed to get picked up by the hostel's shuttle service and checked in to our new temporary home. We all agree this is the best hostel we stayed at, comparable to a resort minus the full room of people. The next day after a delicious complimentary breakfast, we experienced our first cloudless day thus far on our journey which meant one thing.... Lets get our broonnzze onnnnnn ! With no monuments or Eiffel tower-like sights we spent the day enjoying the sun and the Nice beach bum life. Later that day we discovered the barbecue terrace that our hostel offered and that it not only had a hostel bar with a 1 euro per pint happy hour but it was also the most lively bar in Nice filled to the roof with Aussies. That evening after taking full advantage of beer prices we found ourselves midst a large entourage of hostelers heading to the beach in search of a party we'd heard about. What we found was nothing short of amazing... When we arrived to our destination there was a stage with a 75 year old Hispanic man wearing a dashing silver disco-collared shirt spinning top 40 music hits and setting the roof on fire with electric dance moves. The next morning, after local recommendations, we took a bus in the direction of Monaco to see what all the hype was about.5 minutes in Monaco, multi-million dollar yachts, and enough Rolls-Royces to fill a warehouse later, Kyle and I are planning on being valliers and bellhops for a living. We then made our way along the most scenic sea walk we've ever seen till we came across a more private beach than the others we'd heard about. While Tenille had a nap on the beach, we swam what felt like across the Mediterranean to explore caves and find cliffs to jump off of. Looking like well-cooked turkeys we came back to the hostel and are now enjoying our last few pints in Nice with Rome on the horizon tomorrow morning. Nice out
