Well, not very much as been going on here. Work is going well, sort of. Seriously, I have never met more annoying high school kids in my life. I absolutely love some of my classes--I have a couple of higher level classes that are studying International Trade, and they are awesome. It's nice because those are my last two classes on Friday, so it's a great way to end the week. But some of my lower level classes I seriously dislike. Last week I almost had to kick a few of them out. One was "too tired" to work...cry me a freaking river. I pointed to the door and told him if he was too tired he could leave and go work with the teacher instead of me so that shut him up pretty quickly. Another guy literally just sat there muttering things at me in Arabic and telling me that he didn't want to work he just wanted to look at me. I've never been so close to seriously injuring someone in my life. Oh well! Work is work, and I only work three days a week so who can complain!
My roommates and I had
a dinner party the other night, and three other girls came over. It was great--we ate two huge things of chicken alfredo lasagna, a fruit tart, and some giant cookie brownie business the other girls brought along with 3-4 bottles of wine. I think my roommate kind of summed p the night when she looked around and said, "Well girls, at least we're good at eating." It was a lot of fun though, definitely want to do it again. I helped my roommate with the lasagna and the apple tart...and by help I mean I was the designated chopper, but I learned a lot. Just wait, I will be so domestic when I come home!
My roommate and I wanted to go hiking the day of the dinner party, so we attempted to take a bus up to the Observatory since there is a hiking trail there. Unfortunately, the bus stops were totally different and we had no idea where we were and we ended up in Beaulieu. In case you were wondering it was on the other side of the mountain by the sea...definitely not what we were going for haha. The bus ride was so gorgeous though
that we kind of just decided to let it go and see where we ended up. Beaulieu is an absolutely gorgeous little town, and it was so quiet when we were there! We wandered around for a few hours and ended up in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, a really cute, quaint little town near Beaulieu sur Mer and Ville Franche. We found a little park that had what I guess we'd call a nature walk, so I went back today to walk it. It ended up being quite a bit shorter than I thought, but it wound around the coast right on the water. It was absolutely gorgeous--really rocky and you could walk out onto the rocks in most places. I really wanted to climb around and get a rock for Boomer haha but I decided that was probably best left for later when someone was with me in case I did something stupid and clumsy and seriously injured myself--something rather probable for me.
SO, like I said, not too much going on right now...but New Moon (Tentation en francais) comes out on Wednesday!!!!! So excited. Definitely going to see it the day of, so I'll be sure to give everyone at
home my opinion before yall get to see it two days later 😊 I also finally made reservations to visit SCW in Rome! I cannot wait...Rome is definitely on my list of top five places to see, so I am glad I am going, and super glad that I will be able to see SCW while I'm there! Should be a blast! I'm leaving Friday after classes on the 4th and coming home Tuesday evening (the 8th). I figured I needed at least 3 days to do Rome...from what I've read it seems about right...and then I'll have an extra 1/2 day before I go to the airport. Should be home before 8 on Tuesday which is perfect. Still trying to figure out what I am doing for my birthday and Christmas...I'd really like to go to Ireland and I may end up in Paris for New Years' with some friends. Apparently there is a bonfire near the Eiffel Tower...freaking awesome. I would LOVE to see that on New Years!
