August 9th – Ancensis

A lazy start to the day then we took the bikes to find L'Eclerce, Cathy getting withdrawal symptoms after 24 hours without shopping. Ha, it was closed – everything was closed except restaurants, cafes, bars & boulangeries so we bought some bread.

So we came back, had lunch & took the bikes around L'ile de Mouchet, a circular route for walkers & cyclists. There are loads of cycle paths around & plenty of purpose built roads that accommodate cyclists so is a magnet for them – hence the young family I suppose. A lot of the Loire valley is much the same apparently probably as it's so flat & pretty.

It became very hot again so we sat beneath the shade, helped a couple of French chaps fix their ancient caravan with the tools I had brought (I now know the word for pliers, spanner, mole grips, split knuckles & some choice ones too– well, I did at least)

Meant to say that I heard back from the dealers & they're pre-ordering all the stuff Billy needs so they can do it all when it's serviced in September, including a new main sky light to the front – result!

The rear door handle fell off yesterday....hahaha! Fixed, no problem. Note to budding motor-homers – take a decent tool kit! Especially if you go to Italy – shook us & Billy to pieces clearly.

In about 4 weeks time when we get home, the first weekend we shall be embarking on another tour - this time not as far but maybe just as arduous.
