Okay, we are finally officially posting with pictures. I know, about time. We have been very busy with Cameron designing a very interesting itinerary each day and we don't return until after 6:00 usually. Our current M.O. is to enjoy quite a large lunch - often 3 courses! - and then snack on cheese and French bread, nougat, ice cream, almond cake... You get the gist, for dinner at home. After a full day of sightseeing/walking/hiking, we are ready to relax at night and not try to find our way on the perilous roads. That system is working very well for us. We have taken a bunch of pictures, some of which I will share with you, but we have yet to take pictures of our gite. I will tomorrow. In the meantime, here we go:
Our first full day here, Wednesday, we drove to a nearby city, Cahors, which lies along the Lot river. It is a very attractive city with a much photographed medieval bridge. We dined at a sidewalk cafe, eating comparatively light after all the heavy airplane food. I had a salade Nicoise, which was delicious. Everything is very fresh. Cameron had a salad
with warm chèvre cheese, walnuts, tomatoes, eggs, etc. Very satisfying. Then we walked all over the rest of the city and checked out a few shops for the baby grandchildren. They have such cute clothes here for kids.
So we hope you enjoy our snapshots. Love to all, B & C
