American Flags flying at Pointe du Hoc

Omaha Beach

Omaha Beach is 300 yards in width at low tide, which is when the Allies made their landings. The beach is also 5 miles long. 34,000 American troops landed on this beach. 800 would be lying on the beach at days end having given the ultimate sacrifice.
