Hey Guys,

So we are back tracking a bit to tell you about what we,ve done so far... so bear with us here. We,ve had limited internet access.

Anyways Paris was absolutely amazing- it blew both of us away and it was much better than expected.

Although we were with our tour group that day we pretty much went on our own. After leaving London we saw the white cliffs of dover and took a ferry across the channel. Then our tour took us on an evening tour of the main landmarks in Paris which was really cool and we got some great pictures!

Seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time was crazy' it was just fantastic.

The next day we were SUPPOSED to get up and have breakfast with the group then head on the bus for some sight seeing (we were staying in cabins in a campground just outside paris)... well i changed my watch for the time change but i didn,t change the alarm clock- and so although we were totally ready to go, we got out of the cabin to just see the tail end of our bus pulling away lol.

So we were on our on' again we mastered the Paris train system and even took the bus from the campground. From there we saw Notre Dame, went to the Louvre (saw MOna lisa- crowds for that were insane!)

We then walked to the Eiffel Tower, which we thought was pretty close' but no' it definitely was not! We went up the tower which was neat although there were definitely gale force winds at the top' daniel and sarah we looked but didn,t see your names - sorry. The view from the top was fantastic. We definitely had a full day, it felt like we were just running around with our cameras the whole time trying to soak everything in' we definitely couldàve used more time there.

From there we went for a bit of a shop on the Champs de Elysees, although couldnàt buy much in those expensive stores- louis vutton, gucci etc. Found a restaraunt down a side street and had spatzel (which we think wasn,t quite authentic french cuisine but whatever- it was good), saw the Arc de Triumphe and then caught the train back.

Everyone was really nice to us besides the last Parisian we had contact with. We got to the train station at around 10;30 and started to walk around looking for a cab to catch back to the campground. Could NOT find one- the little town was deserted besides this tiny chinese food restaraunt still open' so we went in and asked for them to call us a cab' which they did.

Later the cab came and we said Bonsoir, and we thought it might be a good idea to ask for an estimate for the cab ride back' to make sure we could cover it.... we handed him a sheet with the address and asked him how much... well let,s just say we didn,t get a warm response to that inquiry... He started ranting at us in French and then crumpled up the paper and tossed it back at us- not just tossed it in the back seat- it actually hit us... so then we were like crap, we are definitely going to get ripped off by this guy. He turned on his tape of english rap music really loud' i think to try and piss us off and started taking us back... SO I (carly) decided that this was not going to fly. I was mad. SO i told Amanda i had a plan' he was listening to our convo so i didn, t want to get into detail. I took the money and when we got back to our campground i crumpled up the bill said Bonsoir and threw it at his head.. hehe well this worked well except Amanda was not quite out of the cab and scrambling to get out of it as quick as she could... He then started to honk his horn which i turned around to and saw he was giving us the finger- so I gave him the friendly signal right back... Anyways that was pretty funny and it shows that Canadians are polite but we don,t take bullshit either- 😊
