Happy Birthday to me. Since I ordered some sort of Holiday dinner from the menu I was also presented with dessert after they cleared the remnants of my main course pile of lipids. Crème Brulee as only the French can do it.

I had a couple of these on my birthday/New Year's Eve which may explain what happened later that same evening.

We were sorely tempted to add another souvenir to our collection but lifting this little cheesebox might've been going a bit too far. We left the tip inside when we left. I hope the waitress looked.

We were in and out of the restaurant before 8:30. Just in time to avoid the influx of locals. By the time we paid our bill the place was half full and people were waiting to be seated. I was ready for bed. When we got back to our chateau hotel we went to this building just to the right of the main hotel building. Cassie and my room is the one on the top floor with the light on.

We had a semi-private entrance to our rooms. After walking in the ground floor door we has this common room available to all of us in this end of the building. We decided to celebrate the evening up in my room instead.

Who says we don't know how to have a good time. Up in our room all four of us gathered and waited to ring in the New Year by opening up our bottle of super sweet wine we purchased at the winery earlier in the day. Watching a little TV in a language none of us understood and chowing down on some of our open bags of chips and leftover cheese this was turning into a wild evening. Before ten o'clock a volcano suddenly erupted in my tummy and I made my way to a different room.

I'm not sure what I overindulged on but I was not feeling very receptive to entertaining the rest of the night. Since Cassie was already passed out in her bed and I was firmly ensconced on the Porcelain Throne, Gail and her mother soon left and looked for a more entertaining way to ring in the New Year.
