grave of Leonardo da Vinci We travelled from the Loire to the Dordogne area with more chateau's but also a lot of wine. It is the middle of the wine area. There are some very nice ones as well. Anyway we had a day of rain while we travelled up there. Did not matter in the car and it was getting better later in the day. We landed in a B & B what is unbelievable good. It is an old farmhouse converted into rooms with showers. The day we left Onzaine we visited the grave of Leonardo da Vinci. In Dordogne we went on a drive and visited a few of the villages build on cliff sides you wonder how they still stand after all those years. they date from the 13th and 14th century, the roofs are made out of little stones packed on top of each other. Amazing. The place called Beynac impressed us the most. We had to walk very steep path ways that find it's way to the castle right on top of the mountain.. From there you have beautiful views over the whole area. Down below you see the river Dordogne. There was time to see another little place called

ChateAmbois Domme. Simular as Beynac but not as large. Again beautiful views over the area well known in the tourist world. Next day we had a look at a chateau close to our B&B. It is from the year 1550 and is called Monbaziaallac. Of course they sell wine there but the grounds gave you again a chance to see the surrounds of this clean country. And remember the power in this country comes from Nuclear very clean and it shows. Tomorrow we carry on to a place called Pau.
