LoimaaLoimaaLoimaa

small town girl.
I caught the Train to Loimaa today at 12:47. Emma drove me to the train station, we bought some chicken wraps for lunch, then I boarded the train. It was a nice, short 45 minute ride to Loimaa. I got off the train and met Danni and Eddie (eddie had come from Turku the day before). Danni had his bike but he walked with us to the "town center" (which barely exists...its a VERY small town, only 7000 people). We walked through a beautiful little park and headed toward Danni's house. It was around a 3km walk so it took us about 45 minutes. On the way we met one of Danni's old host brothers at a bus stop. We stopped and spoke with him for a while then walked the rest of the way there. We were greated by "one" of danni's (12) host brothers. He was just finishing practicing his french horn. I put down my bags and went to the kitchen to meet Danni's host mom Annaliisa. We ate a snack of voileipa (butter bread/basically a sandwhich). Then a few more boys came (i dont know if they were host brothers or just friends) and all 7 (or

was it 8) of us, found some old pair of shoes laying around the house and went outside to play some football (soccer) tyep of game. It was kind of like wallball with a soccer ball! It was a lot of fun. I wasn't very good though! The old pair of shoes I picked were old tennis shoes without bottoms, coverd in duct tape! They were pretty stylish if I do say so myself! We played for an hour or so then we did a lot of random stuff like playing piano, talking about how to learn finnish, listening to music and looking at Danni's Australian rotary pins until dinner. Annaliisa cooked a large pot of raindeer and mushroom soup; it was very good, and of course we also had boiled potatoes! After dinner Annaliisa started baking. She baked and baked and baked like no baker i've ever seen. She baked at least 200 little rolls, 8 loafs of bread and a birthday cake. In the kitchen it was pure insanity. We were all sitting at the table and as she brought some hot rolls from the oven everyone would take one and add butter and ham. They were the

best rolls I have ever tasted. We hung out there for a while, drinking tea, then another one of Danni's host brother came by with his wife and two baby daughters. They were adorable. He played the piano and sang opera; the national anthem. Then Danni broke out the Digerydoo ( i have NO idea how to spell that) and played for a while. We went outside in the dark and one of Danni's host brothers gave each of us a ride inside the trailer on his bike! That was scary but a lot of fun! We went inside and Danni and I had a lot of fun sending instant messages to some of Eddie's mexican family members. We were writing all the spanish we knew, random stuff like "the rain forest is big" or "that fish is white" it was very amusing. Then we got tired and went to sleep! The next morning we woke, ate a breakfast of pourage and yogurt and packed up our clothes. Eddie and I caught a ride with some other host family member to the train station and caught the next train to Turku.
