Since the Viking is originally from Denmark and he still has family over there, we visit this country regularly. Usually, when we leave Brussels, we head for Bremen and then to Hamburg, but a lot of roadworks slow traffic down. So this time we chose an alternative route and first went to Hannover and then to Hamburg, which was a lot less stressing.

We almost always stay on the island of Funen, located between the large peninsula of Jutland in the east and one of the bigger islands, Zealand, in the west, where Copenhagen is situated. And on Funen itself, we always go to a small town, Nyborg, which is situated in the east. It used to have a big harbor where ferries connected Funen with Zealand. These times are over now, and in the harbour you will now find yachts, in all shapes and sizes. And slowly but surely, the harbor and its surroundings
