Telc Castle
The castle from a distance.. so beautiful! Our Program wanted to us to see what a smaller city looked like as opposed to Prague and Plzen, so during orientation, they took us to Telc which is close to the Austria border. On the way, we passes farm lands and forests. It was beautiful, but at the same time it made me wonder if people only lived in cities here because houses were very scarce! The Czech country side is so beautiful. Telc is a very small city.. more like a town. It consists pretty much of just one square and a few streets. The square had local vendors who sold scarves, ice cream, food, and souveneir-like things. I bought a scarf for 100CK (5USD). It is blue and very bohemian looking. We had a tour of the castle, which was beautiful. Our tour guide was a very nervous Czech girl who memorized the tour information... I think the reason why she didn't ask for questions was because she probably didn't actually know English! But it was pretty interesting and we witnessed a Czech wedding in the courtyard. We took a walk through the park and I even played some soccer with the boys.. It was a good trip
The Town Sqaure
This is the town square. You can't tell by this picture really, but its very open and it almost reminds me of a scene from a western movie, minus the boroque style arcitecture. because we were able to see what small Czech towns are like.
